CSR AWARDS Entry deadline extended to Friday 20th August 2010. Businesses across the county, whatever size or type, can enter up to the extended deadline of 20th August 2010. The deadline for entries has been extended to allow for more businesses to submit their entries during the summer period.

Earlier this year the Worcestershire Ambassadors launched its CSR Awards 2010. These Awards have been created to recognize and applaud businesses across Worcestershire who take CSR seriously and who endeavour to give something back to their community.

The Awards have been masterminded by Chair, Louise Hewett together with the Ambassadors’ management group.  “The Worcestershire Ambassadors want to recognise everything that is great about our county, and all over Worcestershire there are some amazing examples of businesses of all types doing this every day: incorporating CSR into their business lives and recognizing how it can benefit employees, customers, third party relationships, reputation and of course the broader local community.  With the worst of the recession hopefully behind us, it is a reminder for businesses to be looking outside of themselves and thinking about the benefits for themselves and the community of taking CSR seriously. ”

The Worcestershire Ambassadors’ CSR Awards are open to all businesses across the county, whatever size or type and can be entered over the coming months up until the 20th August deadline.  The judging process will see entries narrowed down, ready to announce first the finalists and then the overall winners at a glittering black tie evening reception on 25 November at Sixways.

Award Categories:

Environment -  Entrants will be judged on their commitment to reducing the carbon footprint of the business and efforts made to source local suppliers and working with like-minded organisations.

Community  - Judges will be looking at the involvement of businesses within the community and support given to charities.

Workplace and staff  - Businesses will be evaluated in regards to workplace initiatives, employee support and going beyond the legal minimum requirements

Individual award for excellence in CSR  - This special award will be for an individual who has personally  made an outstanding contribution to the community  and commitment to CSR.
