Chairs Update – March 2019

Dear Member
It’s been another busy month for Worcestershire Ambassadors

I was delighted to meet so many members at the Chamber expo on the 9th March, we certainly raised our profile with several prospective new members talking with the many board members who were able to join me there.

From there we moved onto the Race Course at Worcester where we  261 screening tests were conducted to identify for signs of Prostate cancer raising £6064 for Worcestershire Prostate Awareness Group. Big thanks to directors  Steve Hunt, Phil Fowler, member Rob North and his team and to the Race Course for hosting us and of course David Baxter Smith and his team who without them we would not be able to put this event on.

Several men who were  tested have been referred for additional testing, my thoughts are with them as they go through the next stage.

New Members

We are delighted to Welcome as new members

Justin Sparks, Daniel Brothers, Paul Chester, Anthony Ottway, Robert Elliot, Nigel Pugh.

Business Showcase WCCC

On the 29th March 29 Ambassadors enjoyed a showcase event at New Road, we started with a behind the scenes tour before refreshments and an insightful presentation by the Club Chairman Fanos Hira on the clubs future plans. We would like to offer our thanks to all those at Blackfinch New Road who made the evening an enjoyable and informative one as well as our own  Vince Hopkins for arranging a fascinating Showcase.

If you would like to host a Showcase please let us know and we would be delighted to talk with you. We hope to announce details of our next showcase in the near future.

Annual ball

The sponsorship and charitable donations we make are dependent on the income we raise from our events, this year is no different.

We are starting to plan for our Annual Ball which will again be at Treetops on Friday 4th October, if you are able to donate a prize for our auction please get in touch with me.

We have two aspects to the auction the silent auction, we look for lots that raise £100 upwards, and the main auction, usually features lots that raise £1000 plus, these are usually holidays / use of holiday homes but can be for anything people generously donate.

Mental Health

This, as you know, is our Charity theme for this year and I am looking at other ways we can promote mental health and well being. I would welcome your views on a lunch later this year  with speakers talking on the subject.

A number of Ambassadors are also supporting the big sleepout on the 4th April, further details are on our website.

Forthcoming Events

Our ability to donate to Worcestershire’s good causes is  very much dependent on the success of our events. Our 2019 programme continues with two events in May,

1st May we have our annual cricket day at New Road when the County take on Nottinghamshire in a one day game, we are in the new marquee where we will be taking lunch and afternoon tea and cake whilst watching the game. There will a Cricket  speaker during lunch and a presentation during the tea interval . Tickets are just £46 each.

Partnership Offer

Greenworks solutions are one of our strategic partners for 2019, they are looking for ways they can help us raise money for our good causes.

Most of us buy coffee from the supermarket, however they are offering us , their  South American Premium Espresso Beans. These 100% Arabica beans are roasted weekly and come in 250gm crafted bags for consistent freshness.

Initial orders will be delivered free of charge minimum order 1kg for £12.50. (This can be split into 4 x 250g craft bags)

10% of all sales will go to our causes this year.

So please think about not buying your beans from the supermarket this month but try our own brand. Your Supermarket won’t  miss the sale but our Worcestershire Charities and those we sponsor will appreciate it.

Please Call Mark on 07887 456996/ 01527 888020 to place your order
