Chairs July Newsletter

As ever Its been another busy month on the Ambassadors front, again can I start by welcoming our new members  Samantha Sinclair – Day, Cherril Barker, Andrew Dyer

I had a first in being invited to open Bishampton fete spending the afternoon there with my family, delighted to hear later that they raised just over £3000.00

We then had our Sponsorship of Street Cricket 18 teams including 2 from Worcestershire Ambassadors playing cricket in Worcester High Street, amazing spectacle seeing so many people in our city wearing shirts with the Worcestershire Ambassadors our logo.

Congratulations to all those who took part especially to Phil Fowler whose team picked up a trophy, as well as  Ambassador Tom Hill whose hard work makes this event happen, I understand we helped raise  in excess of £3000.00  which will go to bring all stars cricket to the under 8’s across our County.

This was followed by the Chamber of Commerce awards held at the University of Worcester Arena, I was delighted to meet and chat with so many Ambassadors many of whom were nominated for awards. Congratulations to all those who were nominated for awards.

Steve Descher and Lance Turner have stepped down from the Board, Steve joined the board in 2013 making valuable contributions especially around the Balls silent auction. Lance was one of the first to join Worcestershire Ambassadors always being involved in the running of our organisation, ready to help when needed. I will be presenting both with our leaving piece at our August board meeting. Both will remain active members.

We are conducting Interviews for new directors in August I hope they will be in place by our September board meeting.

Next year is our 20th Anniversary so next month we will be working on a programme of events to celebrate us reaching this milestone.
